1. Introduction

Welcome to PupLog ("we," "our," or "us"), an application developed by Velaqode. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal data is handled safely and responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use the PupLog mobile application (available on iOS and Android).

By using PupLog, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

To provide a comprehensive pet health and medical tracking experience, we collect the following types of data:

  User Personal Data: If you choose to back up your data or create a full account via Google Sign-In, we collect your email address, full name, and profile photo.

  Pet Data: Information regarding your dog(s), including name, breed, gender, date of birth, adoption date, weight, diet/food brand, medical allergies, veterinarian details, and insurance information.

  User-Generated Content: Daily activity logs (e.g., feeding times, pee/poop tracking, walks, medications, symptoms, grooming, diary notes, and custom events). You may also upload pet photos or avatars directly from your device's camera or gallery.

  Technical & Device Data: We automatically collect standard diagnostic data, including your device model, Operating System (OS) version, and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens to facilitate push notifications.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the collected information for the following specific purposes:

  Core Functionality: To display, track, and manage your dog's health logs securely.

  Feature Enhancement: To generate downloadable PDF Health and Vet Reports, and to calculate a "Profile Completion Score" to help you maintain comprehensive records.

  Communication: To send smart reminders and push notifications regarding your dog’s medications, vet visits, and daily schedules.

  Service Improvement: To analyze technical data to fix bugs and improve app stability.

4. Data Sharing & The "Family Sync" Feature

We strictly respect your privacy. We do not sell, rent, or indiscriminately share your personal or pet data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Family Sync: PupLog includes a feature that allows co-parents or family members to manage the same pet profile. Data is only shared with another user if you explicitly generate and share your unique "Family Code" with them. By sharing this code, you grant that specific user read and write access to your designated pet’s data. You are solely responsible for whom you share this code with.

5. Third-Party Services & Processors

To operate PupLog securely and efficiently, we utilize industry-standard third-party service providers. These providers only have access to your data to perform specific tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

  Firebase (Google): We use Firebase to handle Authentication and to securely store all user, pet, and log data in a NoSQL database. (Privacy Policy)

  Firebase Cloud Messaging: Used exclusively to deliver push notifications to your device.

  RevenueCat: Used to manage our premium features. RevenueCat tracks purchase histories but does not process direct payments. (Privacy Policy)

  App Stores: All financial transactions are handled directly by Apple or Google. We do not collect, process, or store your credit card details.

6. Data Security & Retention

We prioritize the security of your data. We start all users on an Anonymous Account to minimize data collection until you choose to link a Google Account for cloud backup. All data transmitted to our Firestore database is encrypted in transit and at rest.

We retain your data only for as long as your account is active.

7. Your Data Rights

Depending on your location (e.g., GDPR or CCPA frameworks), you may have specific rights regarding your personal data:

  Right to Access: You can view all your logged data directly within the app and export it via the PDF Report feature.

  Right to Deletion: You have the absolute right to delete your data. You can exercise this by navigating to the Profile Settings within PupLog and tapping "Delete My Data". This action is irreversible.

8. Children's Privacy

PupLog is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will take immediate steps to remove that information from our servers.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, via an in-app notification.
